Every piece was well made! Heavy (Good Quality Steel) but the nice castors help it roll out of my Garage smoothly. I used Lamb Tallow to season the racks and wipe down the metal. Wood table and handle are beautiful even before rubbing it down with beeswax. I am betting this will be my last grill purchase at 51 years old. Definitely the best grill I have owned!

This may be the best prefabricated piece I have ever assembled. 3 hrs to build and I never cussed once. Seriously, that is unheard of. The few negative reviews are silly considering the fact they don’t acknowledge the fantastic warranty that comes with this beast.

Love the concept, had an issue...

Love the concept, had an issue at the beginning with the main body missing a couple of the nuts, requiring the seller to send a replacement. Lots of work to take apart and replace. But to be fair they resolved it with little fuss, once they understood. So extra points por customer service. Unfortunately 6 month in of use and the main body is starting to rust, the fire box is delaminating as per the pictures and the cranking mechanism is making a very loud squeaking noise. Would suggest working on the quality of the welds , lining the sides of the box with bricks, and probably use a different kind of paint that will deal better with the heat.

This grill is very well built. So solid. I’m in the steel industry and I can only complain about the quality of the welding which you will not know if you are not in the steel industry. Any way. It is a great piece for entertaining and a conversation starter. Love it and definitely recommend it. FYI I only write reviews when product is really worth it or it is too bad. Definitely I can recommend it.

My husband has only used it...

My husband has only used it twice and upon assembling it the paint started chipping on the door. It is already rusting because of the chipped finish. After the 2nd use the fire box is splitting in 1 side and on the other side the metal is soo thin from being buffed out that it is going to happen on that side too. Please contact us. Update: Reached out to manufacturer and their customer was excellent!! They replaced the damaged parts free of charge and were extremely responsive to my requests

This is an amazing grill and it is so solid! All of the components, materials, and fasteners are high-quality and it shows in the final product. It feels like you could throw this thing off a building and it would still work great! My spouse and I were able to unbox and assemble it without any problems and the food it cooks has the most incredible taste and texture! It always comes out so crispy and juicy with a great smokey flavor that you can only get from cooking over wood. If you are a grilling enthusiast and are thinking about getting an artisanal grill, look no further! This puppy rocks!!

This is built like a tank,...

This is built like a tank, very solid, and easy to assemble. Would be 5 stars but had a quality control issue. The threaded inserts were missed on the right side of the coal box where the upright attaches. The holes were punched in the sheet metal, but during manufacturing they somehow missed installing the threaded rivets in these two holes (see picture). I called the manufacturer and was told they would need to ship a whole new coal box, or I could try to find something to make it work at Home Depot and they would reimburse me. At this step in the assembly it's about 75% assembled therefore not where you want to start all over. Fortunately, I have a threaded rivet tool in my tool box and was able to install a couple of my own threaded inserts, but that's not something most people are going to happen to have. Look it over before you start assembly to make sure all of the threaded inserts were installed during manufacturing.

This unit is high-quality. It’s built with heavy materials and I can see it lasting a long time. All the parts were there and packaged very well. I just finished assembly - it took me about 4 hours doing it alone. It was pretty straightforward, and the assembly manual is good. I tried the app, but the manual was better for me. EVERY SCREW HOLE LINED UP PERFECTLY!!!!! Can’t wait to cook on it. I’ll try to remember to update afterward. Update: The family couldn't wait. I went ahead and started a fire with some old charcoal briquettes to burn it in, let that burn down, and lit up some Jealous Devil lump charcoal (available on Amazon) with a few red oak splits and got to cooking. I am loving this grill!!

This Santa Maria grill is solid...

This Santa Maria grill is solid and very well built. Everything about it is heavy duty. The grill arrived packaged on a pallet with an LTL carrier delivery. The setup instructions (both paper and BILT app) are well done and easy to follow. Take your time setting it up and enjoy the process. I’ve done one cook on it so far and it exceeds expectations. Love the fire box / brasero. Could have used another 1/2 inch or so of firebricks as there is a small 1/2 inch gap on one side. Also, a cross bar is included for the base as an addendum part and installs easily. Good value for the $ and looking forward to many more cooks soon - next up paella on open fire!

This Santa Maria grill arrived about...

This Santa Maria grill arrived about a week earlier than expected, and the delivery driver called us as a courtesy to let us know it was coming. It was a gift for my brother-in-law, and he said that it was easy to assemble, works as he expected, and makes temperature control so much easier. I don't know whether two men were required to assemble it, but I think based on the weight of the components, having a strong person to help assemble it would be wise. So far, he's used it twice. It DOES come with a cover.

I don’t recommend this grill I...

I don’t recommend this grill I recently purchased a grill that promised durability and a solid design, and while it looks nice and feels sturdy, my experience has been disappointing. The main issue lies with the infiernillo (the coal heating compartment), where the joints explode due to the heat, causing it to open up. Edit: after 5 uses the main frame has a crack on the left corner.

Every summer evening now starts with the grill humming in the backyard. My kids love hanging out at the acacia table while I prep the meat. The 723‑square‑inch cooking area means I can grill enough for the whole block party without feeling cramped. I’ve tried both wood and charcoal; the brasero gives a subtle smokiness that’s hard to beat. Adjusting the grate height is intuitive, and I’ve found the perfect spot for medium‑rare steak and for low‑and‑slow ribs. The cover has survived a few rainstorms and still looks fresh. Even after a few months of heavy use, the paint hasn’t chipped, and the grill still looks brand new.
