Backyard Discovery Big Brutus Heavy-Duty Metal A-Frame Swing Set

My kids loved this swing, but after having it for 5 years and 2 months it got rusted on the edges pieces- connecting corners, so we got rid of it before someone could get hurt. Warranty is 5 years about the lifetime of the product. Something that was designed to be outside should not get rusted like this. Poor quality

This swing set is exactly what my kiddos wanted! It's large, it's sturdy, and let's them swing for as long and as high as they want! The build of the materials is excellent and the instructions to put everything together were crystal clear. Will definitely be considering Backyard Discovery for any future backyard needs.

This swing set is a beast! The instructions were great and we had no trouble getting it together. It truly is heavy duty so it took two people to get it upright. No regrets at all. We'll be using this set for a long time!

It arrived quickly and I was able to put the whole thing together by myself except for my husband helping me stand it up and put it in place.\nMy son is autistic and swinging is the only way he self-regulates. He spends hours on his new swing everyday and swings HIGH. It doesn't budge, even with both boys swinging at the same time. The sturdy construction and support anchors are incredible. Got this on the hottest day of the year and put it this together in my shop. Grandson loved it. Had to take apart to get it out but live and learn. Excellent swing set definitely heavy duty and well built.

My kids love this! Finally a swing set that is tall enough to get good swing motion. It's solid construction. I have no concerns about my 3 kids being on it at the same time. And the ground anchors are very secure - it's not going anywhere. Great for big kids and kids-at-heart.

My kids had a small wooden swing set that lasted for 11 years. Because it was wood, it was starting to really weather and had some bees interesting in it. We needed to upgrade for my 11 year old to be able to still swing. This new set fits the bill. It can hold both of my kids well and they have plenty of space. The swing is sturdy and my kids both love it. Everyone comments on how big it is, but it doesn't take up much more space than our old one did, and it is taller, giving the kids more height definitely worth the purchase. Easy to assemble

Bought for my two growing kids and I have been impressed with how sturdy it is, looks great and feels safe. Only took about 2-3 hours to build with one other person and didn't find any piece of install too difficult. Very pleased with our purchase.

We added Big Brutus to our backyard about a month ago and are extremely happy with our purchase. The kids use the set 5-7 days a week. It took two adults about 2 hours to set it up and the instructions were very straightforward. We love the swings and trapeze bar. We have also purchase come cocoon swings and ninja twisters that have quick change abilities. You can tell the quality is top notch and since it was so simple to assemble, we already know if we moved we would take it with us. Highly recommend! Oh also, we received it within 2 days of purchase which was super exciting.

I am very pleased with this swingset. The price was good and it's quite attractive. We have placed it at the edge of the woods. It was a little bit difficult to install because the woods is on an incline. But the children love it, and it is very sturdy! I highly recommend this for a tall swingset. That will be fun even as my grandchildren get a little older. I will try to attach a photo. we are able to easily attach and remove the baby swing when needed. We just hook it onto the chain. The babies enjoy holding onto the rings while they swing.

I was nervous buying a swingset since most are for younger kids. I have a pretty big 10 year old and an average 7 year old. This swingset is perfect for them. My 16 year old has fun on it as well. Feels very sturdy. My husband ended up anchoring it some other way because the anchors didn't make sense. Plenty big for adult swinging. Very happy we purchased this!

Debated between this and Lifetime Monkey Bars units because I wanted metal (I would never ever refinish the wood) and a high climbing bar. Ultimately, hemmed and hawed for a while because I didn't care for the slide so Voila! This plus a climbing dome gave me exactly what I wanted. Free of maintenance and will have many years of use before it's outgrown. 4 stars instead of 5 because the anchors were a pain to install in our rocky, clay yard.

Bought this for my daughter's birthday. Took only a couple hours to setup, straightforward and easy. I used cement to secure the footings, out of an abundance of caution. Used horse stall mats for padding underneath. I ended up buying some 3rd party toddler seats, for no problem. I tested myself, and I'm 6' tall 210 lb. I really got some air, and had to stop from going too high! This thing is a beast!

This was for the grandkids but the adults sure are enjoying it! Built very sturdy and worth every penny if “big” people are going to use it too. Easy to assemble using 2 people and done in about an hour.

I bought this for my 10-year-old grandson who has autism. He loves to climb and swing. This swing set provides the size and stability he needs for rough and daring play!! I am a 69-year old woman and was able to pre-assemble the whole thing - just needing help from my son to tip it up, place it, and anchor it. The instructions were great! I am VERY happy with this purchase and expect my grandson will be using it well into his teen years and maybe beyond. To be honest, I've done some high swinging on it myself. This purchase is well worth the money!!

Installation was a breeze... right up until the end. Connecting the anchors to the feet before you put them in the ground (as indicated in the directions) makes it literally impossible to get the anchors into the ground (a difficult enough task in a vacuum!). The anchors are designed to essentially be screwed into the ground, which you can't do if they're already bolted to the feet. It's absolutely crazy that an otherwise good product has such a fatal flaw. We've been praying for rain and then trying to some get the anchors in the ground to such a perfect degree that we can then bolt them to the feet. Needless to say, not a reasonable situation. The only reason we didn't return it is because we constructed the entire set before realizing the flaw, and who wants to disassemble the whole thing right after putting it together. What a nightmare.

This has been the most used play area in our yard since we bought it.

We were looking for the tallest swing set we could find. This one fits the bill. This swing set easily holds the weight of both kids and adults. Highly recommend.

The A frame is solid, the anchors keep the frame stationary. I am 72 and swung horizontal with no bend or movement of the frame. My grandchildren love it. They are not permitted to swing horizontal yet.

We wanted an all-metal swing set that would feel sturdy and be simple to assemble, and that's exactly what we got. It's easy to switch out the swings with other items to adjust for different age ranges of the children who are using it (as you can see in the photo, we're currently only using one of the three original items). The height of the set lets you get the swings really high into the air, in that sense it's better than half of the local playgrounds' swing sets. Highly recommended! The only caveat is, be careful that the plastic bags of small items that come inside the long leg poles, don't get stuck in there. Ours did and it took a while to unwedge it from the closed end of the tube, until we realized we could remove the plastic cap on that end, then the bag fell out easily.

An early Christmas present for the grandchildren. It was easy to put together and reasonably priced. Very sturdy, even I can swing on it. The whole family enjoys it. Everyday the grandchildren want to go outside and swing. They love to say 'push me grandma.'
