Backyard Discovery Cedar Cove Swing Set

So this has been a great little play structure for my 20 month old.... and it definitely has potential for him to still enjoy it for years to come but here is a list of pros/cons: PROS: - lots of different options for him to play- Slides, swings, chalkboard, play barbecue area, and seating area. -we wanted a structure with less falling areas since our son isn’t even two yet. And this one is perfect since there’s only one point of potential falling and that’s over the ladder area. But then we can just stand there and he is safe to go down the slides. Where as in other structures there’s multiple falling areas and with a fast toddler we couldn’t get around to other areas in time. -The spider swing can hold an adult male weight to at least very lightly swing and the structure seems fine holding it. Our son likes to swing with us sooo.. -my husband was able to build almost the entire structure himself- minus one other person to help put the slides together. It took him about 2 days to finish. The app instructions are great and allow you to zoom in on the video and rotate it around. CONS: -cedar is not a hard wood and most of the pieces are very thin. So what this means is the structure can comfortably hold a toddler or a young kid but even me weighing 110 pounds I feel like I put too much strain on it when I try to go up top with my son to play on the chalkboard. I’ve even gone down some of the slides and it’s sketchy. And don’t even think about sitting on the benches without a lot of wood staining/cracking sounds. -The wavy slide is thin. So OK for a toddler or a small child but any big kids over like 90 pounds will strain it. -the tube slide we call the laundry chute. After it makes its first turn it’s pretty much just a straight controlled fall to the bottom. Some kids may find this fun but my 20-month-old, even being the daredevil that he is, doesn’t like it. Maybe someday he will. -we wish the benches had a table as part of it like some of their other structures. Maybe we will make one.

This was difficult and time-consuming to put together. It took about 5 days for my teenage grandson and my 20 year old grandson and 25 year old granddaughter to build. They first spread out all the pieces and supplies on a large tarp. They used the video and the written instructions. The enclosed tube slide took additional time, but it was finally completed. My 2 year old great grandson LOVES this playground and I know he and his baby sister will get many years of fun from it. The size is for children, not for adults. The materials are sturdy and of good quality. Overall, I think it is good value for the money, but be prepared to spend a lot of time putting it together.

Will be honest from the beginning it takes A lot of assembly work and needs at least 2 people to get work done. However seeing the kids smiles and happy faces is the best reward for a parent. Kids are love it!

Get organized get organized get organized. It takes forever to put this thing together, but it’s worth it.

My kids loved! It is very strong... super hard to assemble! My husband and step father took 2 days doing it.

A friend and I assemble this in about 12 hours over 2 days. You can assemble parts of it by yourself like the rock climb/ ladder and slides in advance. And then use the help to do the rest. Be very careful with the wood nuts you need to hammer in advance on the details. A clamp can force them in if forgotten. It is sized for 3-6 year old for the size over all. The quality matches the price in the lower to mid range. After doing it once I would probably buy from the manufacturer again if needed.

These products are very good. Easy to build and install. Great customer service if anything is broken or missing. This is my third one we have bought for our kids. Housewarming gifts for them. Grandkids love them.

How do I start, this is a big project!!! Took several days to complete it but it is fun for the kids, looks durable and it is easy to put together with the help of the app BILT. My kids enjoy it. Some parts were defective but customer service was always very helpful and attended to my situation at a timely manner. I’m very glad I made this purchase. No more going to the park where it’s open to public, my kids have their own now. Very happy. My kids love the attached play grill and the swings are very sturdy and fun. They also have a microscope to see the stars while being up there. It’s worth the money and good for the ages of my kids. It has different functions and it is very well designed.

I highly rate this playset and am very happy with the final result, but there are two major pain points you need to be prepared for before you buy.1. The Assembly is a MarathonLike any large playset, this is a massive undertaking. Expect two full days of labor. The directions are well-illustrated and the reference videos are excellent if you get stuck, but the sheer volume of parts is overwhelming. Do yourself a massive favor: organize every fastener and piece of wood before you start. If you don’t have a system, you’ll waste hours just hunting for hardware.2. The Water Seal Requirement is ObnoxiousThis was the most frustrating part of the process. The wood arrives unsealed, and the factory warranty is only valid if you apply a sealer yourself. It is very obnoxious to have to do this on a premium product, especially since it’s much easier to seal the boards before assembly. Budget time and money for a high-quality sealer before you even pick up a screwdriver.The Bottom Line on QualityIgnore any claims that the set is flimsy. It uses lightweight cedar rather than dense hardwood, but don\'t let the weight fool you—once fully assembled, the structure is rock-solid and incredibly sturdy. It’s a great product that your kids will love, just be ready to put in the sweat equity to get it standing.

I put this together by myself took 30 hours had extra parts screws bolts nuts. Everything was perfect went together just as it said my granddaughter loves it.

This is a great addition to the backyard for our granddaughter. She love to play on it

We bought this after comparing several different brands. So glad we did !

Very good product but took is a day and half to put together - but highly recommended! Children love it and older children up to 12 can play on it

I bought this and got it all set up for my Granddaughters. They haven't stopped playing on it yet!

I recently convinced my neighbor to join forces with me to build the Cedar Cove Wooden Swing Set (#2001053). I have six grandchildren and he has three children. After we order and begin the project it was “very disappointing”. There was a missing step in the ladder which was the first of many flaws. We had to re-create the step and “drill holes” in the main structure that were mis-aligned. I have pictures, if you want them. Please have someone do a better job with “quality control”! I finally completed the project without my neighbor, who left frustrated. I'm an Army veteran and I've assembled lots of projects like this for my children. This one left me a Frustrated Poppop! Mission accomplished, it's up!

I bought this kit for grandkids and they love it. Enjoy watching them play on it every day. Also bought 12x12 backyard discovery gazebo. Every in kits fit perfectly and great instructions,every bolt and bracket. Quality 👍

So far zero complaints. Love that instructions are on your phone make it much easier to put together. Kids absolutely love it

With our little one turning two, we knew we wanted to get him something he could use for years to come. This hit all the boxes! The two different slides, the multiple swings (saucer one is our fav) and rock wall are fantastic. My little guy and his friends love to pretend play with the grill/food that was included and having the benches included is a major plus. Assembly took a few days, but the men got it done in a timely fashion. Highly recommend!!

pretty well pre assembled. took me 4 days to assemble by myself. reccomend 2 people. reccomend ypu have your own drill, drill bit and wrenches.

We bought this about a month ago. We love the swings and slides. I do feel like the wood is a little bit thin on the bench and floor parts but like everything else. It took my carpenter husband a few days to put it together. He was happy with it.

It took several people working together to get this done, but it looks great and the kids love it. I will say some of the wood on it seems thin and like it would break easily, some of it split a bit while putting it together
