Backyard Discovery Highlander Swing Set

Order arrived on scheduled day about 2 weeks after I placed, My son in law who has his own construction company put the play yard together in about 10 hours. He commented on the sturdiness and overall material and really liked the ease of everything being predrilled. My grandson loves it! We have purchased some extra handles and a safety net to go across the opening at the rock wall, my grandson is only 2 so he won't be using that for a while.

I worked on this about 4 hours each day. It has taken about two weeks to assemble. First note is the entrance to first level. It is getting cut off. I have hit my back more times than I can count. Structurally it serves no purpose. I suggest they redesign this section. Great for little kids; not so much for adults. You know the kids will want you to climb up!! I am not crazy about the posts stacking on one another. I will be buying brackets to reinforce. I think the directions could have been written clearer. For example: do the label numbers go in or out or doesn’t it matter. Putting the floor down was a challenge to get the bracket for center post to line up. When putting on slats for railing, who measures from bottom up? I measured from top down once I knew how much. Long review I know. Being a woman I laid everything out, read the directions carefully, looked ahead in book, I can’t see a man doing that!! Ha ha ha. Yes that’s stereotypical. I would suggest leveling your ground first. I jumped right in and feel it was a mistake. Overall I give the directions a B+. Diagrams need to be clearer. Good luck!! Have fun!! I would buy this again, now I know how to assemble!!

Grand baby loves this (3yo). It took three adults about a day and a half to assemble It’s well built and very sturdy. The assembly app is a huge help don’t try to skip using it. Our toddler and his neighborhood friends have already had hours of fun on this thing!

** update - the beam across the top of the swings has split from end to end 3 weeks after purchasing.. my kids are only 3 and 5 so I don\'t think they are swinging too hard. I\'ve contacted Backyard discovery to see what they say.I love how tall this fort is, my kids love the third story, but it is a beast to assemble. It took my handyman and one other worker 3+ days of full time labor. Also with the height of the structure you have to be cognizant of safety measures in case of falls.Package arrived with some damage and some of the boards split during the assembly.

This has been the greatest purchase! I have a 2.5 year old and a 6 year old, and they LOVE playing on it. They never really wanted to go play outside by themselves before, but now, they’re begging to go!

We bought this for my kids 5th birthday and it has been such a good buy! My kid LOVES the three levels. It was a pain to put together, but that's to be expected. The directions were easy to understand and straight forward. I do expect it will need to be sealed, but it feels like great quality so far and looks great in our yard.

Awesome playset, really well made and solid materials / hardware. The instructions were actually very good. Built it in a day with a little help. Kids love it, especially that it has 3 levels!

We got our girls (2,3,5) this playset for Christmas and they LOVE it!

Overall this swing set is great! It came in so many pieces, but they have an easy instructional manual that shows you on your phone what the steps are. It’s very sturdy. Our kids play on it daily. My husband has even sat on the swings and it held him.

Okay this was cool lot of screws and bolts but good instructions have a couple of friends help you out you can get it done in a weekend

We bought this playset when we moved to our new house and it is lovely. It did take 4 people a full day and a half to assemble, but it seems sturdy and my kids love it!

step by step instructions, fairly straightforward assembly. Can be done individually if you have some basic knowledge. I did add some framing to help stabilize the entire structure.

I have a 2,5 and 11 year old. I wanted them all to be able to use it. The boards are as hard as I would like for the 11 year old to get one and use all the time. The finish looked great and we waited about a month or two before we spayed it with clear coat. I recommend doing that sooner. We had already seen sun damage by the time we sprayed. But as far as design and functionality. The kids love it. My daughter has no issues climbing up and down the ladder. The slide is very fast so be ready for that. Make sure your area is level before building. It took us the full 22 hour. I worked alone until I needed a second set of hands and then at one point we needed two ladders. I was able to stand on the tower since I am a small 125lb woman.

I bought the Highlander swing set for my granddaughter. It is easy to assemble even for one person. The instruction pictures are very accurate and make sure to look at each page thoroughly. Don't assume you know the next step. Finished it in a week of evenings after work and one full weekend. I just need to add a perimeter of mulch.

Built it by myself with a bit of help for the roof panels. Took about 16 hours total. Very easy to follow the digital instructions and our son loves it so much!!! Highly recommend.

Very pleased with this purchase. Looks great in the backyard and seems to be durable. The installation company gave excellent service and was easy to work with. The installers were thoughtful and made adjustments to accommodate placement of play item attachments so toddlers could reach them. Very professional dedicated team.

I purchased this swing set approximately two months ago, and it has become a favorite among my children! The versatility of being able to change the swings for different attachments, adds to its appeal. The slide provides an exhilarating experience, but caution is advise, especially with smaller children - having an adult station at the bottom to catch them is a must. However, the most disappointing aspect of the purchase was the set up process, which took a total of 1 1/2 months. Our initial handyman, who took the manual and disappeared without any communication, left us frustrated. Nearly a month later, after being rescheduled, the second handyman proved to be fantastic. He efficiently assembled the set in about six hours, making the delay and initial disappointment worth the final outcome.

Although purchased in February, we commenced assembly in mid-April. This is not a simple assembly, and the directions were generally quite good. However, every step had to be checked and double checked as to insure that the pieces were correct, and the direction with the pre-drilled holes were followed exactly as the directions reflected. Even with fastidious effort to follow the directions, it was confusing since the view of the parts changed or was inconsistent, forcing more time to locate a point of reference. Also, in our exacting efforts, when we got to installing the deck/floor supports (H04), those three supports were not included. We received 4 H06 parts, which was the same size as the H04, except that the H06 had pre-drilled holes. This resulted in much confusion, which we didn't realize the similarity until completion with the extra 3 H06 boards remaining. (We found alternative support boards on Easter weekend which we installed as to not delay completion).

We bought this for our 3 year old\nHe absolutely loves everything about it!! It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy and will last him a long time!! So happy with our purchase!!

We just bought the Highlander for my daughter's 5th birthday and we could not be more thrilled. The swingset is beautiful and so unique with the 3-levels in the clubhouse. My 4 daughters do not want to come in our house anymore because they just want to stay outside and play!! Great purchase and would highly recommend to anyone with kids with varying age ranges!

We previously had this playset we had bought used from an individual. It was destroyed in a small tornado, so I searched the company and purchased an identical playset direct from the company.
