Backyard Discovery Montpelier Swing Set

Installed a month ago. The quality is good! However, it is much smaller than expected. Building wasn't difficult, unfortunately their were pieces we had to alter due to the holes being misaligned.

Our 1st play set for the grand babies is a Backyard Discovery, but they have outgrown it. SO we found the Montpelier Swing Set and will put in together first thing in the spring. (We have to wait till winter is over). We can't wait, neither can the grand kids. They helped pick out this one, and both are very excited. We purchased another Backyard discovery swing set because the 1st one has been wonderful. Putting it together went well because the directions were easy to follow. We did have 1 piece that was cracked, but got a replacement very quickly. I'm excited for our new one and would highly recommend Backyard Discovery.

I bought this swing set before Christmas, it arrived super fast! Setup was pretty simple and straightforward. Really sturdy material, my kids love it so much!

Easy to put together, a lot to it, but easy to assemble. My daughter loves it.

We purchased this set last month after a lot of research and our daughter LOVES it! We were able to assemble in about 10 hours with breaks (4 adults). Instructions were clear, materials labeled and they also provided extra bolts, nuts and screws. This swing set has everything we were looking for: a slide, swings, club house, and monkey bars. The way it's laid out, it does not take up too much space in our yard, and it looks really nice. Great purchase, and we'd give it a 10/10!

For the price I would have thought more things would have been put together, or more wholes would have been predrilled. It was a rather easy set up but very time consuming. I suggest laying out all pieces in order and groups before you start. I have a lot of extra pieces, and I had a lot of missing bolts. I was able to improvise with the extra stuff. Some of the wholes that were already drilled didn't even line up with the other would to bolt together. Defiantly easier with more than one person.

This swing-set is perfect for our two grandchildren. The men that assembled it did a great job and we very nice.

After the hurricane wiped out our other swing set, we decided on this one for our soon to be 6 year old! She loves it! Little house with a door, swings, side, monkey bars, picnic table… we love it!

Not difficult at all to build with a second person. All parts were included and labeled. The kids are enjoying it and it looks pretty good.

I bought this for my grandchildren to assemble at there house. I assembled it all by myself with no help. It took me a lot longer than expected due to location and only one person. A) I thought instructions needed more notes and suggestions. B) Sub- assemblies should have been water sealed first not after. C) wall assembly was too tight and did not fit, had to eliminate one board and space remaining. D) Bay window assembly is weak, these boards should have been one piece plywood, small screws fail with the thin cedar wood planks.

Great design, very cute! A million pieces to assemble, but had clear directions. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, a few wood pieces came warped. We did not leave the boxes in the sun and assembled within a few days of getting it. Our daughters and their friends love it! It feels pretty sturdy, except for the slide. I could see us needing to replace in a year.

I'm not going to lie, this was a HUGE project. It took us three people over a span of 21 hours to put together. We had to pre-drill many holes. One must be very careful and ensure the orientation of the pieces are correct. We used alternate swings for my son. Once you insert and attach the ground steaks, it's extremely structurally sturdy. It will not budge. Despite all those hours spent building, it was worth it. We have a 4 year old son with Autism. Seeing his smile, and watching him run towards the swing set was worth it. Just need to seal the wood and we're good to go.

I sent this beautiful swing play set for Easter 2023 to my 3 little granddaughters - my Son and Daughter-in-Law had moved them to a new home. The entire family is ecstatic 🥰

I will NEVER buy from this company again. The wood is terrible quality. We have had this swingset for a year and a half and its so wobbly. My husband is a contractor, he is very skilled at building things, so that was not the issue. The whole structure rocks back and forth when my 50lb 3 year old swings. Do NOT buy!!

We've had this set for a little under a month and the kids love it! We were looking for something that would grow with them and keep them occupied for years to come. We do have a daring two year old so this set maybe a little big for that age group but it's perfect for our 6 year old, I would say it's great for ages 4+. We used purchased the assembly service to have this set assembled and we would also recommend this as well! Go Configure came out and had it put together within several hours. They also notified backyard discovery of pieces they recommended to be replaced and put the order through. The prices came within a week and the assembly company is sending someone out to do the replacement. All around I would recommend backyard discovery for great products and great customer service and Go Configure is really great too!

This is by far the worst 1300 I have spent in my 35 years. The woods came are mostly split . My 9 year old can build a better and more sturdy playground . Stay away from this . It is not safe. The quality of wood is horrible I wouldn't even let my 3 year old on it .

I got in 3 months ago. I used the recommended contractors to build it. My kids enjoyed it every day.

Just assembled and it was an easy installation. I know my grandkids will like the slide and climbing wall. Also a great quality gif the value.

Bought this during the pandemic of 2020, it is weak and falling apart, the wood is cheaply made and very unsturdy. Having it only 2 years ,it shouldn't fall apart! It's a expensive lose when you aren't wealthy and on a budget. I serviced it according to the instruction manual. Its way overpriced and if you want to have it assembled professionally, it cost just as much as the set. I do not recommend this product, or this company!

Nice playset but not made for kids older than 10.

Good quality of wood , well finished and boards of sufficient thickness.\nthe building is beautiful enough, but some details are not thought out.\nI would close the house on all sides. it is inappropriate to go up the stairs to the house, open the door that opens only inwards, leave the house only to go down the hill.\nI would add 2 more walls below, under the house, so that it can be used as a room.\nI don't think it's a well thought out design.\nOverall, I like the design, but needs improvement.

We bought this about 2.5 years ago for Easter this thinking it would last for years. fast forward to now every little storm has blew this swing over and tore it apart ,it was anchored in with the rebar they sent with the set, we are lucky and live in an area where we get very few extreme weather problems. We kept up maintenence, kept fixing, reanchoring it in the ground. it is made with extremely thin pieces of wood,that shattered with any applied pressure, the main beam isn't even quite a 2x6 (should be 4x6) the pieces that hold up the house portion are barely 1 1/2 inches thick. ( these should be 4x4s or at the very least 2x4s it isnt even that) it is made very cheaply for the price it is. and am just so sad because we dont have the money to keep buying expensive swing sets, and i wish someone would have had said how thin this wood is before we bought it. sorry for rambling but I hope this helps the next person buying a swing,right now its priced at 1299.99, Buyer Beware.

Fantastic playset for the price. build quality is great. The manual is quite detailed,the app was actually way better than i was expecting although the manual is what we used. We had one missing eye bolt for the swing and a bend board that were replaced with no questions asked. Fantastic service goes a long way these days. We bought a wood chipper since we have alot of trees to remove anyway. Wood border will be installed next weekend, today is a day of rest and admiring the clouds :)

We bought this play set during the President's Day sale and very pleased with the purchase. We were waiting to complete some yard work before building the set. This review is more focused on ease and flexibility of shipping and quality of the item received. The delivery company was super easy to work with and allowed us to postpone final delivery since it conflicted with our schedule. When the items were delivered, the delivery people were great and put the boxes in our garage. They were careful and very efficient. I will update my review once we put the play set together in the upcoming weeks. We are looking forward to a lot of fun playing on the Montpelier play set this summer!

We purchase this about a year ago and it's still doing amazing. My husband has played with my two year on it and he's about 210lbs. My son gets excited every morning when we say outside time because of this playground.

This is our second swing set from backyard discovery and we love it ! Our girls are 4,5and 7 so I needed something for each age group :) the monkey bars will grow with them and they spend so much time enjoying the slide and swing set. They have picnics and even play house . A wonderful purchase that will keep them busy for each age !

Took me longer to put together then expected but instructions were very detailed and was able to get it together for my daughter. Very happy!!
